The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services plans to publish a new Form I-9 by November 22, 2016. The current Form I-9 can be identified by “Form I-9 03/08/13 N” in the lower, left corner of the form. Employers may continue to use the current Form I-9 through January 21, 2017. After January 21, 2017, employer must use the new form.
Here is a link to the draft Form I-9 that the USCIS posted in March 2016 for review and comment. Please do not use the draft for employment purposes. Stay tuned to our blog for notification when the USCIS releases the new Form I-9 or visit the I-9 Central section of the USCIS website.
